Westleaf Staff: What's up, Tailand? Your sound is fire. When did you start making music?

Tailand: At 16, I discovered I had a talent for freestyling; I'm talking impressive wordplay, flow, & performance. After that realization, I decided it was time to document my skill, leading to me recording my first track in 2019.

Westleaf Staff: That's fire! So how did your early life shape your interest in music?

Taiand: My mother always played records in the house while cleaning or in the car, picking me up from school. I was always curious about who the artist was, regardless if it was Reggae, Hip-hop, Reggaeton, or R&B. It's safe to say I grew up exposed to a vast range of music.

Westleaf Staff: That's dope. Shoutout to your mom for playing those jams. What city do you represent?

Tailand: New Orleans, Louisiana

Westleaf Staff: Dope! Shoutout Nola! So how did you create your stage name?

Tailand: My music is an invitation into my mind, a welcoming into Tailand. I made my name with the intent to represent a space of existence, a dimension created by my thoughts.

Westleaf Staff: I love that. Tailand is a dope name! So who is your biggest Musical influence?

Tailand: My biggest musical influence is myself. Everyday I self-relfect what I could do better as an artist. I consistently strive to make a better song than the last. I'm in competition with myself & that drives me to keep breaking the boundaries of creativity in every project I release.

Westleaf Staff: Dope! Shoutout to you young legend! What's been the defining moment in your music career thus far?

Tailand: I feel as if I haven't experienced that defining moment just yet. I know it's coming, especially with the hard work I put in.

Westleaf Staff: That's real bro! So what does art mean to you?

Tailand: To me, art is the self-expression of one's creativity. Some paint it, some write it, and others, like me, create it sonically.

Westleaf Staff: Dope! Where do you see your music career going over the next few years?

Tailand: I see my career going further than I expect, honestly. What's planned for now is to eventually use the status I create from being an artist as leverage to kickstart my label. My passion will forever be music, & establishing a foundation to help artists live off their creativity has always been a monumental goal of mine.

Westleaf Staff: Facts! You can do it bro. What makes you a unique artist?

Tailand: My personality is unique, & that's reflected in my artistry organically. The factor that makes me stand out is that I'm being myself.

Westleaf Staff: I wish you much success in your career! Before we go, describe music in three words.

Necessary, Therapeutic, & Impactful.
