What's up Leafers? Welcome to the latest edition of On the Rise where we interview upcoming hip hop talent. Today's guest is artist, Nemo P. Nemo is straight out of gritty NYC and he has the bars to prove it. He began creating music at a young age drawing inspiration from Jay Z. In his music he infuses his life story growing up on the streets of NYC with contemporary hip hop flare. Nemo's been making waves in his city so we had to tap in. Check out the interview below.
Westleaf Staff: What's up, Nemo? Your sound is dope. When did you start making music?
Nemo P: "Basically All My Life, But Around 15 or 16 Is When I First Started With My Bro Vellz Piffy."
Westleaf Staff: That's dope! What city do you represent?
Nemo P: "NYC."
Westleaf Staff: Shout out to NYC! Y'all have some crazy talent up there! So how did you create your stage name?
Nemo P: "That’s For Another Convo Lmao IYKYK." #StayPiffy
Westleaf Staff: Nice. That's a fly name. So how did your early life shape your interest in music?
Nemo P: "Growing Up In NYC Can Be a Tough Environment. Music Always Brought The Right Energy For Me In Those Tough Times."
Westleaf Staff: You're doing big things and taking it to the next level. Salute. So who is your biggest Musical influence?
Nemo P: "That’s a Great question. I’m Influenced By Many. Musically I Would Have To Say Jay - Z."
Westleaf Staff: Jay is a legend! Next question! What's been the defining moment in your music career thus far?
Nemo P: "Starting The Company With My Brother “Most Prolific Records LLC”. Going Into Business For Ourselves. Feeding The Inner City With All Our Music At a Rapid Pace. Seeing Gradual Growth Then The Music Actually Being Digested With Great Feedback. My First Album Scammy Sosa Is Almost Platinum On Spotify. Seeing The Reach Of My Music And Brand Was Definitely a Defining Moment."

What makes you a unique artist?
Nemo P: "Having different vibes that actually hit in NYC is tough AF. When I Started Didn’t Wanna Do What Everybody Else Was Doing So I Tried Different Sh@*. I Have Fans In Different Places Some Sounds Hit More Depending On The State. But All My Sounds Reach So That In Itself Is Unique."
Westleaf Staff: I love that answer. So what does art mean to you?
Nemo P: "Art Is Life And I Want My Art To Last a Lifetime. Musically Im Painting My Own Mona Lisa. I Feel Like Picasso Or Warhol When I’m Rapping."
Westleaf Staff: That's deep! Where do you see your music career going over the next few years?
Nemo P: "Making Myself And The Brand a Powerhouse In The Mainstream Market. Getting The Level Where Everything a Household Name."
