What's up Leafers? Welcome to the latest edition of On the Rise where we interview upcoming hip hop talent. Today's guest is, Winter$. Winter$ has a futuristic sound similar to Yachty or Uzi. His euphoric flow is perfect for chill moods but he can easily switch gears to a more hype vibe. We can definitely. see Winter$ coming to a stage near you. But enough from us, we linked up with Winter$ recently to discuss his musical origins and unique style.


Westleaf Staff: When did you start making music?


My name is WINTER$ I started making music when I was 15. I got bandlab at the time it was popular. I made my first track ever. and it got some hate but now people want to hit me up for collabs. I got better since then but it takes time to perfect your craft.


Westleaf Staff: How did your early life shape your interest in music?


In my early days soundcloud rap was at an all time high with artists like Thouxanbanfauni for example and it made me want to rap on some beats i would find on youtube.


Westleaf Staff: Who is your biggest musical influence?


My biggest influences in music are Lucki , Yeat , Thouxanbanfauni, Summrs , and Autumn! They really shaped my sound and you can hear that they have been major influences on me.


Westleaf Staff: What has been the defining moment in your music career?


The most defining moment in my music career is right now since I am about to release my very first album called “ WINTER TIME” all engineered and mixed by me. I put a lot of work into it.


Westleaf Staff: What makes you a unique artist?


What makes me a unique artist is I bring a different cadence when I rap. I always rap about things that I do. I never fake anything, it all comes from the heart.


Westleaf Staff: What does art mean to you?


When it comes to art in this music game it really depends on you but for me it is something you can hear or see especially when a person put their sweat and tears into their project.
