What's up Leafers? Welcome to the latest edition of On the Rise where we interview upcoming hip hop talent. Today's guests are rapper Moneybaby XO and Pullup Reddy. The duo are making waves in the Atlanta scene so we had to tap in with them. Check out the interview below.

Westleaf Staff: What's up, Reddy? Thanks for stopping by. When did you all start making music?

Pullup Reddy: We started writing, creating and recording songs in 2010. I started making beats in 2011 but fully started to master production in 2018.

Westleaf Staff: Dope! What city do you represent?

Pullup Reddy: Atlanta, GA.

Westleaf Staff: Ha! Shout out to Atlanta. So how did you all create your stage names?

Pullup Reddy: I was brainstorming for names while watching the Coach Carter movie and one of the players screamed out "Riddy" when his family member got shot. He thought he heard Reddy, so he went with it.

Moneybaby XO believes she can make money with anything she does, so Moneybaby was perfect.

Westleaf Staff: Dope. Shoutout to you for embracing your individuality. So how did your early life shape your interest in music?

Pullup Reddy: I became interested in music as a teenager. I was inspired by my brother's music and my dad was an entertainment manager. My dad also worked the sound system in the church so I was always around music.

Moneybaby XO grew up singing in the choir and was always a natural entertainer.

Westleaf Staff: Nice. I bet it was dope to have such a diverse listening experience growing up. Salute to your dad! Who is your biggest musical influence?

Pullup Reddy: My biggest musical influence began with Michael Jackson but I started to gravitate to hip hop and drew my inspiration from Timbaland, Ma$e, Akon, Andre 300 and Kanye West.

MoneyBaby XO has always looked up to female emcees, her biggest influences are Missy Elliott, Queen Latifah, Da Brat and Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes.

Westleaf Staff: Nice. Those are some legends! Respect. Next question! What's been the defining moment in your music career thus far?

Pullup Reddy: Being able to record and make beats gave me the opportunity to be in the studio with a lot of major artists. Coming from Raleigh, NC I did not think it was possible for me to fulfill my music dreams, so I decided to move to Atlanta, GA. By being in Atlanta, I was able to work with some of my biggest influences like Ma$e and Akon. I was also able to work with Raleigh's own Grammy Nominated Super Producer, Travis Cherry.

Moneybaby XO's defining moment was seeing her hard work come to fruition by being featured on Ace Drucci's song, "In Dat Coupe", that made it to Billboard.

Westleaf Staff: Nice!

What makes you a unique artist?

Pullup Reddy: I believe I am unique because I've been influenced by many genre's of music. I blend Hip Hop and R&B but I also have the ability to add in pop or country music. Being a songwriter and producer helps to fulfill my artistry.

Moneybaby XO's ability to mix her comedic humor within her lyrics, makes her unique.

Westleaf Staff: That's real. So what does art mean to you?

Pullup Reddy: Ones creative expression through experiences. Also, art means being able to show a side of yourself that not everyone can fully see.

Westleaf Staff: I feel that! Where do you see your music career going over the next few years?

Pulllup Reddy: We see ourselves touring and performing. Putting out songs that can impact the masses.

The Westleaf: Nice! I affirm that with you. Before we go, describe music in three words.

Pullup Reddy: Every Day Energy.
