LIL.P4X DISCUSSES ART AND HIS MUSICAL JOURNEY

The Westleaf

What's up Leafers? Welcome to the latest edition of On the Rise where we interview upcoming hip hop talent. Today's guest is rap artist, Lil.p4x. Lil P is straight out of Izmir, Turkey. His style is mellow and dramatic reminiscent of Lil Peep or Juice WRLD. We can definitely see him performing at festivals such as Coachella or Rolling Loud. Lil P's been making waves with his sound so we had to tap in with him. Check out the interview below.

Westleaf Staff: What's up, Lil P? Your sound is dope. When did you start making music?

Lil.p4x: I started writing poems 2 years ago and I was not brave enough to write songs. Then I said, "I have nothing to lose, let's jump on that". Then I started to spit all the hatred, love, anxiety, and deep sadness. I feel like I'm still lost and there is no hope for me. But I'm not going to give up and I will inspire the others and show them that I understand their feelings even when they feel down as hell.

Westleaf Staff: Salute. That's an awesome mission. Much respect. What city do you represent?

Lil.p4x: Izmir, a beautiful city which I love too much. I used to go to the seaside whenever I felt depressed in high school which makes it everyday, haha. I love Izmir and feel safe there. Though I love Izmir, I still ran away to a few foreign countries to work and afford my music. Now I'm going back. I'm happy

Westleaf Staff: Shout out to Izmir! So how did you create your stage name?

Lil.p4x: "PAX" means "peace" in Latin. My name is Barış which means "peace" as well. Then I put "lil" first, then thought to make it a bit different. Then lil.p4X has taken the first step on the stage on the spotlight.

Westleaf Staff: Nice. Your name is fire. It's definitely powerful. So how did your early life shape your interest in music?

Lil.p4x: I'm a big fan of Juice WRLD and Lil Peep. They inspired me. I used to listen to both of them all day, NON-STOP! Because my early life has burned most of the positivity inside of me. Now I'm on the stage for revenge.

Westleaf Staff: Those are some giants. Music has always been a positive outlet. I'm glad that it helped you on your journey. So who is your biggest Musical influence?

Lil.p4x: Definitely there are two, Juice WRLD and Lil Peep. I find a lot in their music and it is my dream to be their best choice to find something in music.

Westleaf Staff: Nice. Those are some legends! Next question! What's been the defining moment in your music career thus far?

Lil.p4x: My latest song release, Die Young.

Westleaf Staff: Wow! That's super dope. Congrats on your song release.

What makes you a unique artist?

Lill.p4x: Fans can find a lot after they start listening to my music. I'm not only on the stage or on platforms for them. I'm here for them. Standing right here, waiting to enjoy the music and the time we have in this world before I embrace death itself. Death is sudden. Before it comes, we have to understand each other and show love.

Westleaf Staff: I respect that! So what does art mean to you?

Lil.p4x: Art is a therapy itself for me. I can say it for music. I have been listening to music as long as I'm awake in a day. I still do. Why not to spread it?

Westleaf Staff: True. Your message is super inspiring. Where do you see your music career going over the next few years?

Lil.p4x: I will be dead or successful as hell. There is no other choice.

Westleaf Staff: I believe you will be very successful. Before we go, describe music in three words.

Lil.p4x: Hatred, Love, Depression.
