Singapore, 14 July 2021 — Following the success of its first store launch early this year, MUSE Communication SG is pleased to announce the launch of Hakken!'s second outlet in VivoCity, which will officially open its doors to the public starting this weekend, 17 July 2021. This new retail outlet is part of the group's effort to increase accessibility to its products and also to present a wider variety of anime merchandise and titles to the community of anime fans in Singapore through exciting collaborations.
Since the launch of its first physical outlet in Plaza Singapura in January, Hakken! has observed soaring demand for licensed anime merchandise and content, seen in numerous requests to restock instant sellouts, and requests to bring in products that have just been freshly-launched in Japan. By opening this new retail outlet, Hakken! hopes to fulfill this increasing demand and to further achieve its goal to provide an exclusive retail experience for its loyal customers.
“While we did expect an encouraging market for the local anime retail scene, Hakken!'s success over the past 6 months really took us by surprise, and this only proves that Singapore has a vibrant and growing community of anime fans,” says Jeff Lee, General Manager of MUSE Communication SG.
A Shopping Haven for Fans From All Walks of Life
At the new Hakken! outlet, visitors will be welcomed by over 700 officially-sourced anime and pop-culture goods, including accessories, collectibles, figurines, plush toys, and stationery from more than 30 notable licensed titles in the anime industry. Selected best-selling items from the first outlet will also be available at this new storefront, including Jujutsu Kaisen, Genshin Impact, Tokyo Revengers and Attack on Titan — titles that have taken the anime world by storm in 2021.
More than meeting the demands of its existing group of customers, Hakken! has observed and garnered the interest of an unusual pool of clientele since the first store launch. This includes family-oriented shoppers comprising parents who would shop for anime items along with their children and deliberate on purchases together. Through this family activity, parents become more curious about their children's latest anime obsessions, which becomes a stepping stone for their own interest.
“Besides the increase of parents who bring their children into the store, we have also observed a demand from a more mature market, such as anime fans who have grown up into discerning customers looking for top quality merchandises of their favourite characters, even from series that may have ended decades ago such as One Piece, Evangelion, and Dragon Ball,” Jeff added.
Upcoming Shenanigans with the Premiere of Crayon Shin-chan's 29th Movie
In conjunction with its official retail launch, Hakken!'s is proud to announce its collaboration with Golden Village Cinemas through its parent company, MUSECommunication SG, one of the largest Japanese animation licensors and distributors of official anime and goods in Southeast Asia.
Coming this August 2021, fans in Singapore will be able to gain access to catch the Singapore premiere of Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: School Mystery! The Splendid Tenkasu Academy. This movie is the popular Japanese franchise's 29th installment since the title's first movie in 1993.
