What's up Leafers? Welcome to the latest edition of On the Rise where we interview upcoming hip hop talent. Today's guest is hip hop artist, Du'lanci Vallie. Du'Lanci is a an artist out of New York City represented by the TGWEWON independent music label. Growing in scope and depth with each new release, his style has been most recently compared to that of Drake and Asaiah Ziv. Based on rock-solid and undeniable beats graced with unobtrusive but unforgettable bass lines, music by Du'Lanci Vallie builds crowds, interest, and emotion for recordings, performances, and playlist spots which never fail to excite audiences. But enough from us, we recently linked up with Du'Lanci to discuss his life and musical roots. Check out the interview below.


Westleaf Staff: What's up Vallie? Thanks for linking up with us. Let's get right to it. When did you start making music?


Du'lanci Vallie: Early 2010 I started producing beats for various artist under my older stage name and now I am making my debut as a vocal artist in 2022 with my release "Leave Me Alone".


Westleaf Staff: That's dope. You've seen both sides of the game. Congrats on your release! What city do you represent?


Du'lanci Vallie: New York City, the Bronx.


Westleaf Staff: Nice. NY has some fire coming out right now. How did you create your stage name?


Du'lanci Vallie: It's a play on my actual name as I don't really like it. I chose to use Du'Lanci Vallie not only because of its uniqueness but because it defines who I am.


Westleaf Staff: That's dope. We love to see unique names in the industry.So how did your early life shape your interest in music?


Du'lanci Vallie: Growing up around family that never stopped playing music introduced me into various genres and artist at a young age. I never wanted to copy but I definitely studied the greats and approach the business accordingly.


Westleaf Staff: Who is your biggest Musical influence?


Du'lanci Vallie: I hate to name him but Michael Jackson of course. Westside Boogie if we talking Hip-Hop.


Westleaf Staff: That's a dope choice! So what's been the defining moment in your career thus far?


Du'lanci Vallie: Truthfully, releasing my first single is currently the defining moment for me in my career thus far. My debut comes in layers and I am only getting started.


Westleaf Staff: Facts! You're actually making moves. Salute! What makes you a unique artist?


Du'lanci Vallie: The way I approach music. I really see it from a design aspect. Can my music solve an issue or can it provide something to someone? These are the questions I kind of ask myself during my process.


Westleaf Staff: What does art mean to you?


Du'lanci Vallie: Art is a form of expression, at least that's how I define it.


Westleaf Staff: Where do you see your music career going over the next few years?


Du'lanci Vallie: Up. I'm going up in the ranks on the charts but most importantly I aim to create a unique impact through my music and actions as I continue to grow daily and amass a larger audience.
