What's up Leafers? Welcome to the latest edition of On the Rise where we interview upcoming hip hop talent. Today's guest is, Deezy 2 Thumbz. Deezy is an artist with a raw new age drill style. Deezy's music creates a gritty picture of life in urban areas packaged in hard hitting and memorable bars. The up and coming artist has spins on live radio and he's performed with big trap artists such as YFN Lucci. Deezy's originality and tough bars are quickly catapulting the artist to the forefront of the indie hip hop scene. We recently linked up with Deezy to discuss his musical origins and unique style. Westleaf Staff: Yo! What's up man? Your sound is dope. When did you start making music?


Deezy 2 Thumbz: I started making music around 2016. I was just doing it for fun and I wasn’t taking it serious at the time.


Westleaf Staff: How did your early life shape your interest in music?


Deezy 2 Thumbz: The environment I was in, and the shit that was going on in my life made me wanna start rapping so I could express everything.


Westleaf Staff: Who is your biggest musical influence?


Deezy 2 Thumbz: I influence myself actually. I don’t look up to nobody, none of dat.


Westleaf Staff: What has been the defining moment in your music career?


Deezy 2 Thumbz: Me on live radio and opening up for YFN LUCCI, back in 2018.


Westleaf Staff: What makes you a unique artist?


Deezy 2 Thumbz: What makes me a unique artists is my slang of saying Tuz, Tuzzin, Tuzzo, or Tuzzy. I’m MR. GoTrazy. My word play just super different. I’m incomparable.


Westleaf Staff: What does art mean to you?


Deezy 2 Thumbz: Art is an expression to me. It’s a skill, something you have to have mastered.


Westleaf Staff: Describe music in three words


Deezy 2 Thumbz: Deep, Natrual, and Forte.
