Check out the interview below.
Westleaf Staff: What's up, Alex! Nice to meet you! When did you start making music?
Alex Lane: When I was 13. Mainly making noise tapes and sometimes instrumentals for really shitty artists.
Westleaf Staff: Nice. What city do you represent?
Alex Lane: Detroit, MI.
Westleaf Staff: Dope! Detroit stand up! So how did you create your stage name?
Alex Lane: Alejandro Nicholas Diaz-Voysest is too long, idk where Lane came from
but it works!
Westleaf Staff: Nice. How did your early life shape your interest in music?
Alex Lane: I spent a long time in psych wards and jails as a youth. Most of the ideas I use today came from me trying to figure this bullshit out at 12-14.
Westleaf Staff: That's cool. Seems like you were super inquisitive about things. Salute to you! So who is your biggest Musical influence?
Alex Lane: Brainiac, Enon, Beastie Boys, Chrome, VU, Zappa Etc...
Westleaf Staff: Nice. Those are some legends! Next question! What's been the defining moment in your music career thus far?
Alex Lane: Still waiting for one it seems.
Westleaf Staff: Dope. It's coming for sure.
So what makes you a unique producer?
Alex Lane: Alejandro Voysest was born unique. Some say I'm a genius, and others say I'm out of my mind.
Both are pretty cool though...
Westleaf Staff: Your sound is definitely unique! The individuality is dope. So what does art mean to you?
Alex Lane: Me.
Westleaf Staff: Ha! Nice. Where do you see your music career going over the next few years?
Alex Lane: I will be Prince.
Westleaf Staff: Big goals for sure. I see the vision! Before we go, describe music in three words.
Alex Lane: Oscillations, Feelings, Makes me money....
